    As I read this morning’s news, I saw that scholastic performance is in the headlines.  Students and academic growth are major concerns. It’s good to know FirstChurch’s ministry addresses this need! Summer reading is key to maintaining and even improving a student’s grade level proficiency.   Through Project Transformation, our church provides that opportunity for children and youth.     The 13th annual FirstChurch Charity Golf Tournament tees off Monday, October 5 at the Los Rios Country Club in Plano. Format is a four-person scramble with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start and an awards luncheon following completion of play.
