Of course not! We would love to see you at Bible study, Sunday school, or UMYF any night we are meeting. Forspecial events we just want to make sure we have enough transportation for everyone so please let us know if you are coming on an outing with us.
No, we welcome everyone to our events and church membership is not a requirement. If you are interested however we would love to have you as a part of the family at First United Methodist Church of Plano and welcome you with open arms. If you are interested in joining let Grant know and he can discuss different options with you.
Him? That's just Grant Wilson our Minister with Students. He has been with Crossfire since January of 2006. Before coming to Plano he graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor's degree in Religion and spent time in ministry at Pauls Valley United Methodist Church. While in Oklahoma he met and married his wife JP who helps run the zoo at home which consists of 2 dogs, a cat, and several fish. Grant also enjoys playing video games and watching football in his spare time. He is always around and excited about talking with students about their faith and how to help plug them in to the group.
Depending on the event we meet in a variety of places. Our weekly events page shows where UMYF, Sunday School, andBible Studies meet. For most special events we will meet in the youth lounge and go from there.
Of course! We could not reach the number of students we do without the amazing volunteers we have. They do everything from cook dinner, to driving, to leading small groups and Bible studies. On Sunday May 4th we will have a meeting in the youth lounge (room 256) at 7:30 PM where you can ask questions of current volunteers, find out what you need to do to get started volunteering, as well as other ways to support the student ministry. Questions? Contact Grant by email gwilson@firstmethodistplano.org
Usually the answer is no. However some of our special events do have a small cost which is listed by the event date on the website, butwe do not want this to be a barrier to your participation in the ministry and can always make arrangements.
We need your email address! To get on our mailing list, please send your current email address to Peggy Finkel, our administrative assistant extrodinare and let her know you want to be added to the weekly email list. Her info is on the contact page.
