Good News

Dearest Lord,

Life is filled with waiting.

Waiting for the next big event.

Waiting for news that could change my life.

Waiting, ultimately, for death.

Waiting is hard, Lord, oh so sorry.

I get impatient while I wait.

I spend far too much of my time and energy worrying about what will happen.

I get so distracted I cannot live fully today.

So help me wait in a new way.

Let me understand that this waiting time is a gift.

May I use it to grow closer to You.

To seek Your will.

To be filled with Your vision about what can be.

And to let my hopes and dreams shape all my days until then.

But most of all, let me experience that You already are in the future. 

And You are waiting for me.
