Nursery Policies
These policies are intended to protect and provide the best possible care for all children in the supervision of our nurseries. When a parent of guardian places a child in the nursery and signs the sign-in sheet, we consider this an agreement to abide by the following policies:
-
The sign-in sheet will indicate the child's name, parent's name, where the parent will be during the time child is in the nursery and the corresponding pager (and or tag) number.
-
Pagers will be provided for children 23 months and younger. Attached to each pager, 2 tags with corresponding numbers will be provided. The parent or guardian will be responsible for pinning one to the child's clothing and one to the diaper bag. To retrieve the child, a parent must provide the pager at sign-out. The number will be matched to the tag pinned to the child and the tag pinned to the diaper bag.
-
Children over 2 years of age will have a tag pinned to their clothing by the parent or guardian and a tag will be given to the parent or guardian with a corresponding number. The parent must present the tag to sign the child out. If the tag is lost, positive ID must be shown and the name and ID number of the person picking up and the child's name will be recorded.
-
At drop-off, a parent may enter the nursery to comfort their child. For the safety of all children, no one may enter the nursery area at pick-up.
-
All diapers, bottles, extra clothing and bags for each child will be provided and labeled by the parents when child is checked in. Visitors will be assisted with the labeling by the Nursery workers.
-
Parents will give written instructions to child care providers if the child has special needs or allergies. These should be pinned to the child's bag and noted on the sign-in sheet.
-
All cribs will be completely changed after each use. All toys and play equipment will be cleaned with bleach/water weekly. (Daily as needed)
-
Snacks will be provided by nursery staff when length of nursery stay warrants. Please do not send snacks with your child.
-
Children with fever, severe colds or any other seemingly contagious ailments are not allowed in the nursery. If a child has been vomiting, had diarrhea or had a fever in the past 24 hours, the child may not be cared for in the nursery.
-
In case of an emergency, the employed childcare teacher or Nursery Supervisor will exercise his/her judgment in providing the necessary emergency aid. Parents will be contacted immediately.
-
Nursery workers cannot be responsible for personal items brought into the nursery.
