What are the functions of the committee?
- The function of the committee is to support local and global missions. This is done either by actual hands-on activities or through financial donations.
What has the committee done most recently?
- Amigo's Days, 2009 SAVES Mission Trip to Honduras, Project Transformation, School Shoe Project and School Supplies Project
What is the makeup of the committee?
- The Missions Committee is comprised of church members who are devoted to serving the local and global communities in missions.
How often does the committee meet?
- The Missions Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month except for the month of July. Most meetings do not last longer than one hour.
What is the time commitment of someone who served on the committee?
- The time commitment of someone who serves on the committee is dependent on which projects they are involved in. In most cases, someone would be involved in a project for about 3 months a year.
What is the term length?
- Missions Committee members are encouraged to serve a three (3) year term. However, some members of the committee have made commitments for over 10 years.
What would be helpful for a first time committee member to know?
- Serving on the Missions Committee is an enriching experience. It allows one to develop an awareness of the needs of our community as well as the world. We strive to continue to grow our discipleship by supporting as many programs as possible.
What are the future plans of the committee?
- Curerntly, we have no new future plans, but are always willing to find a way to support as many projects as possible within the means of the church budget.
