Mrs. Laura W. Bertwell, mezzo- soprano, graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music Education in Voice. During her time at Baylor she studied voice under Dr. Robert Best, choral conducting under Dr. Donald Bailey, and was in the Baylor choirs under the direction of Mr. John Mclean in Concert Choir and Dr. Donald Bailey in the prestigious A cappella Choir.  She currectly is studying conducting under the direction of Dr. Pamela Elrod and directed in church music studies by Dr. Michael Hawn and Dr. Christopher Anderson.  Mrs. Bertwell has taught students in Mclennan, Montgomery, and Dallas County  and has taught at all levels in schools, churches and in a private studio. Laura is currently a candidate for the Masters of Sacred Music and Masters of Music degrees in Choral Conducting at Southern Methodist University,  is the assistant director of the Meadows Community Youth Chorus, and is the Children’s Music Coordinator at First United Methodist Church of Plano. Laura lives in Dallas with her husband Russ and two dogs, Holly and Lou.
