SAVES Honduras Mission Trip

The SAVES Mission Team of First Plano has been involved with Tom Brian’s Send Hope endeavors for over six years now. During this time, we have sent four Mission Teams of adults and youth to Puerto Lempira Honduras to help build the House of Hope (a home where school age children can receive a deserving education), provide much needed dental care and build a playground at the House of Hope. A current project in Honduras needing our help is building a house for the Mission Teams to use while in Honduras. This house will be a place to sleep, eat and implement more ways to show God’s love to the people of Puerto Lempira.

First Plano has also provided financial assistance to the Send Hope project using money raised from the annual Craft Fair. This assistance has enabled Tom Brian to ship building materials, dental equipment, school supplies, home furnishings, etc. 

Collecting some of the supplies and prayer has been another means of support for Send Hope. The Missions Committee works closely with Tom in getting the word out to the church community about the needs of the people of Puerto Lempira. There have also been numerous occasions when volunteers have been available to help load these supplies onto the containers prior to shipment.  First Plano has many groups who have been praying for this project over the years.  Prayer is so important in everyone’s daily life and adding Send Hope to your prayer list is greatly appreciated. 

This May, SAVES plans to send another team of adults and youth to Puerto Lempira.  There are numerous ways YOU can be involved in this life changing experience.  There is a need for participants, financial assistance, supplies, prayer and more.  Contact Clay or Kathy Richmond at clayandkat@aol.com for more information.
