Why is the company working with Cards for Kids called "Scrip"?

Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money." In other words, scrip is a gift card program from national and local retailers. They're the same gift cards that you buy at the store, except through Cards for Kids, a portion goes towards our youth programs. Many popular retailers participate in our Cards for Kids program including: JC Penny, Wal-Mart, Macy's, Steak & Shake, Pizza Hut, Chili's and hundreds of others.

You're probably asking yourself how these stores help us to raise money. It's simple -- Scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift cards to our Cards for Kids program at a discount. We then sell the cards at full face falue, the retailers redeem them for full face value, and Cards for Kids keeps the difference.

We will have a limited selection on hand Sunday mornings. If you want to be sure your card is in stock on Sunday morning, order them by 5:00pm the Monday beforehand online. It's simple and you can even have the cost of the card taken out of your checking account.

What a great way to give to the youth programs without costing you anything! All we ask for is the little bit of your time it takes to order online and pick up the cards. A small inconvenience for a HUGE impact on the lives of these kids!
