What are the functions of the committee?
- Has supervision, oversight and care of all the property owned by the local church or any organization connected with the local church.
Insurance of property and personnel
Administration and investment of bequests, trusts and trust funds
Maintenance and usage of actual facillities, equipment and fixtures
What has the committee done most recently?
- Approval of contract for acoustics and sound modifications
- Delegating donated funds to purchase TVs for Sunday school rooms
- Development of a church policy in regard to driving and transportation
- Approved new volleyball court and playground construction
- Approve and coordinate landscaping for grounds
What is the makeup of the committee?
- Chairperson
- Vice chairperson
- Secretary
- Treasurer (if need requires)
Secretary and Treasurer may be held by the same person.
- Senior Pastor
- Church Administrator
- Total of 9 members
How often does the committee meet?
- Within 30 days of the ensuing calendar or conference year for the purpose of electing officers of the board, then
- Once a month (if needed)
- Special meetings as necessary
- Skip a month in the summer for vacation
What is the time commitment of someone who serves on the committee?
- Attend meetings
- Other projects as they arise
